Love Letters by Debbie Macomber
(Rose Harbor #3)
The story of Rose Harbor Inn continues with more visitors to Jo Marie's newly acquired Inn. She has enjoyed keeping her mind busy so that she doesn't dwell on her grief. Her husband died before they they had a chance to even plan for the future. Now, she is forced to face the future alone. Of course, there's the incorrigible and mysterious Mark who becomes her handyman.
Jo Marie welcomes a few new visitors in this book with interesting stories. Maggie and Roy come as a last ditch effort to save their marriage. They both admit to the part they played with the mistrust between them. Their story is filled with emotion and difficult decisions.
Then, Ellie comes to stay so that she can meet a live interest she met online. She has come to adore Tom and is anxiously awaiting their time together. The story begins with the typical boy meets girl but then takes an unexpected turn. Ellie is forced to confront issues from her past that she never knew existed.
A local person reserves a room at the inn but is invited to stay with Mark as he does not trust the man intentions. This character will likely have more of a presence in the following novel.
"The inn had worked its enchantment once again, healing wounded hearts, lifting spirits, blessing all who stayed."
This book is a delight to Debbie Macomber fans. It's a nice companion series to the Cedar Cove stories as many of the beloved characters surface from time to time. As always, these books bring you into a community where you feel like you could be home.
