I received a complimentary print copy of this book from Callisto Publishing. My unbiased review is unbiased and voluntary.

It has been many years since I had to take the SAT and with a high schooler nearer that point I was particularly interested in the current recommendations. This book focuses primarily on the authors developed method based on years of experience. It was through her effective determination to overcome her own personal challenge with dyslexia and Russian being her native tongue.

I like the personal approach in this book which seems to have stemmed from years of tutoring students. She helps them to develop a relationship with vocabulary and understanding relevant to reading comprehension. She adapts her lessons to what is of most value to the student.

The book is organized into five parts which are clearly labeled into categories based on her specialized groupings. She provides a detailed explanation on how to use the book and also provides an answer key at the end of book for the 145 lessons.

I was impressed with the easy format which essentially groups similar words with definitions and an activity to chose the correct word in a sentence. It is not overwhelming and can easily be done in whatever order suits the student.
