I received a complimentary print copy of this book from the publisher. My review is voluntary and unbiased.

Tarot began several hundred years ago but maintains its relevance to this day. The author explains the history of tarot over time from past, present and future. He then helps to explore the meaning of the cards from Major to Minor Arcana which are the court cards and four suit cards.

There are 22 Major Arcana cards which represent the main cards in the deck. They present the big picture connecting us to our greater personal story. The overview of each card is clear and describes both the upright and reversed meaning as understood through the lenses of contemporary spiritual and mystical views.

The Minor Arcana cards speak more to the intimate details of our lives. They are divided into four suits associated with each of the four elements: fire, water, air and earth. The cards are numbered Ace to Ten which show the pips which are an evolution of the suit’s spirit. Again, the cards are nicely illustrated with concise definitions.

This is a great book for beginners as everything is easy to read and understand with great illustrations. The final chapter reviews some sample practice spreads.
