Ivy Perkins is newly divorced and wanting a fresh start. She steps outside her comfort zone and buys a farmhouse, sight unseen, in a quaint town. When she arrives with her dog Punkin she is surprised when she is met by the real estate broker, Ezra Wheeler. He is very helpful and explains the history of the house which was left in a state of disrepair. The Four Roses Farmhouse belonged to the Rose family known for their kindness and generosity especially around Christmas.
As much as Ivy wants to maintain her independence she realizes that she needs to accept the help of her neighbors. She meets a girl Phoebe at the diner who shares her online romance situation seeking advice. Although Ivy started to feel overwhelmed by the unexpected renovations needed, she slowly begins to find her place in town and with her neighbors.
She finds a box in her closet left by the previous owners with a Santa suit in it along with some other memorabilia from the past. She is intrigued by her discovery and seeks to learn more about the people who lived there.
It’s a delightful story that is easy to read and perfect to raise your holiday spirits.
