“Gardening is an act of humility, where we must acknowledge that we are mere peons in the success or failure of our endeavors.”
I have been gardening for years now and still don’t feel like I warrant an “expert” status. Gardening does have a way of humbling as does all science. The author likens plants to “neighbors” in the sense that there is no good or bad way to plant. There can be techniques to acknowledge the “friendlier” plants that play well with others. These tips can save a beginner gardener years of experimenting and frustration.
I was intrigued as I had never heard of The Three Sisters fable regarding indigenous gardening and companion planting. Overall, I found this book added to my knowledge of gardening providing me some very helpful information. I would recommend this book to all gardeners.
