Interesting perspective
It was interesting to read this knowing it was written prior to the To Kill A Mockingbird which tells a very similar story with some controversial perspectives. Since it was written first, it is not a sequel and clearly stands alone providing an alternative view to the story of segregation and race relations in Maycomb County. This novel raises questions and discussions regarding the atmosphere of the characters and politics of a particular time period.
The rewrite of this initial story, Go Set a Watchman, has resulted in a novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, which will always remain a beloved classic.
