Nonfiction, women’s health
I received a complimentary print ARC from the publisher. My review is voluntary and unbiased.
This book is separated into four chapters which explain fasting and how it pertains to the female body as well as provide meal plans and tools for fasting. There are resources and references provided at the end.
It’s important to note the author is an experienced registered dietitian who clearly defines fasting and that it is not starving oneself. Intermittent fasting can be used to improve health goals but only in relation to one’s individual health. This book addresses the unique metabolic differences that women’s bodies endure contrary to that of men.
This can be a useful resource for women in understanding the effects of hormones and metabolism in relationship to overall health. Most people should consult their healthcare practitioner to ensure any changes to your diet and lifestyle are appropriate for your personal health condition.
