I received a complimentary print copy of this book from the publisher and author. My review is voluntary and unbiased.

I really enjoyed this unique cookbook. Who doesn’t like ice cream or cake? Putting them together is just a heavenly dessert. I learned a lot about making and assembling ice cream cakes. The book is organized into six chapters based on the category of cake.

There is the basic ice cream cake 101 lesson followed by a common favorite chocolates flavor. Then, there’s the fruity and cheesecake like cakes followed by the boozy and artisanal. A handy measurement and conversion with resources and references are provided.

Overall, there are many types to satisfy everyone. This book is not for the casual cook as all the cakes are made from scratch. I guess for a newbie one might try a boxed cake while trying to perfect the ice cream. There are also several recipes and techniques for some of the ice cream recipes. Most of the recipes require the use of an ice maker although there are some no churn recipes.

These cakes look wonderful and I can imagine if brought to a social gathering you’d receive many compliments! Well worth it for special occasions.
